Topic Admin Posted 3 Years+  ago.  Diabetes Mellitus – Challenge to the Homoeopathic Physicians. DM (Insulin dependent or Independent) is increasing worldwide. Selection of Similimum is not an easy task in practical field. It is my request to the Homoeopaths to guide the Students in right direction in true sense on their findings. As respected Dr. P. Sankaran told in his book ‘The Elements of Homoeopathy’ Vol -2’ “…..if there is no clear symptoms, Phosphoric acid is a good remedy. We can very well find similimum only for certain pathological symptoms appear due to Diabetes Mellitus like Phosphoric acid.But the root cause for diabetes mellitus is only the deficiency of secretion of Insulin(Pancreatic Juice). The persons with sedentary habits are the mostly affected victims of DM and also the dynamic persons suddenly switch over to sedentary habits are also affected. Hence frequent use of low dilutions of Nuxvomica(6), Ipecac(6) and weekly dose of Arsenic Alb 200 with moderate movements of abdominal regions based on Yoga Asanas along with restricted dietary habits have certainly improved the parameters in my hands.(I have given these prescriptions to 3 different patients with sedenatary habits). I have also read in a Journal that the increased thickness of the wall of the Pancreas will lead to decreased efficiency.
