Naevus 

 – [plural. Naevi]. A birthmark. There are many different types of naevi e.g. haemangioma (composed of small blood vessels), mole etc.
Narcotic 

 – a drug that depress brain function and produce stupor, insensibility and relieves pain. The term is used particularly for morphine and other derivatives of opium.
Nates 

 – the buttocks; the prominence formed by the gluteal muscles on either side
Necrosis 

 – (mortification). The death of some or all of the cells in an organ or tissue caused by disease, physical or chemical injury or interference with the blood supply. Caseous necrosis occurs in pulmonary tuberculosis where the lung tissue becoming soft, dry and cheeselike.

Nephritic colic 

 – nephr- (nephro-) which means kidney(s). Abdominal pain occasionally present in cases of acute renal inflammation.
Nettle rash 

 – hives; urticaria; an acute or chronic allergic reaction causing red round wheals on the skin; sometimes it may affect lips and tongue causing swelling. They itch intensely and may lasts for hours or days. Sometimes sensitivity to certain foods develop nettle rash e.g. shellfish, strawberries etc.
